Hello ! Welcome to my very own page :) My name is Mario ( yes that is a nickname! ) Falsone. In CDT we were bascially asking lots of questions about each others ideas. The main question was ... BUT WHY ?????
IDEA
I would like my design to be either a motor car that is small or a super cool pair of sunglasses. I would make my motor car look like this : .
For the sunglasses would like them to look like this :. They would be really cool to acually work as sunglasses but if that is too hard to do then I would just make them look like sunglasses.
Hi Mario. Some interesting ideas. The object/ideas that you have shown look to be stuff that you can buy out of a shop. If you are going to make a project, then it's going to be very 'homemade' looking and not professional. We don't have the skills or equipment to make that kind of stuff. Here are a few questions/ideas to get you thinking:
If you want to make something that moves, how will it be powered? (we don't have the tech for remote control)
Would you prefer to experiment to find out how moving things work?
Or would you like to get a small kit and try to design a body for the car?
Personally I would like to see you research about real electric cars - there are some very cool ones out there.
There are other ways to make things move - not just electric, wind up/elastic bands/wind powered etc - keep your options open
I would like to ( if I can ) use a bettery powerd car. If not then I have found a webpage that tells you how to build a toy car that moves and is powered by an elastic band. It would be very small but i don't mind about the size that much. Here would be the things I would need :
I did some research and found out how a rubber band car works : A rubber band is attached to any fixed surface of the car and then the other end is attached to the rear axle of the car. You wind the car up by turning the back tires but be sure that you keep the tires from free spinning until you are ready for the car to go. When you let it go, the rubber band that has been stretched will unwind from the axle and force the cars tires to turn.... pushing the car forward. :D :D :D :D
LEARNING LOG
Today in CDT we were told to make a learing log about all the progress we have made and what our next steps will be so here goes ! Today in CDT I wasn't entirely sure how to approach my challenge of making a toy car. So I went to the conputer room and now I have a full set of Instructions on how I am going to make it. I have all the things i need to make it so next week I hope to get started on my elastic band car and hopefully get quite far on with it. The only question I have is ..... Does the CDT department have wood glue??????
Yes Mario - we have lots of glue. And lots of different types. The wood glue is in the corner next to the files/sander :-)
Last Week I Made lots of measurements and eventually I figuered out where I wanted my drill holes to go in my car. Next time I would like to get the wheals on or if not just get the holes drilled and think of colours for the car.

Good work - You'll have to get a the screw eyes yourself as we don't have the at school. Any DIY place will have them, you might even have some at home.
